10 year employment is only required if you've had a driving job in the past. (this is kinda embarassin but) I had a 6 month gap of not working, and USX didn't need any type of proof from me.

10 yr history? Well, I'm looking at the USX fact sheet. #10 on the list says "have your work history for the last 3 years to fill out on your application in orientation".
Interesting, do you need 3 years, or 10 years?

I am thinking about USX and there was a time period when I was in school and not working. hope that doesn't look too bad. Also worked for a family trucking company for the past 3-4 months after I graduated. But I never filled in any documentation or official paperwork or anything. Ugh, hope that doesn't bite me in the butt. Wonder if it'd be better not to list it. Ah well, can only try.

Most companies require a 3-year work history wrapped up and verified before they even get a driver into orientation. If they don't, they should anyway.

DOT requires a full 10-year application in your own hand-writing on site. Gaps of 6 months or more in the last 10 years need to be verified with a certified letter and signature of a non-family member.

School is something else entirely. If in the last 3 years, the company will usually just call the registrar's office. If 3-10 years, companies will usually not even make the call, so you can just write it down.

When I went, the dr that did the physical ask if my blood pressure was under controll(due to my being on meds for it), but no one ever ask for a release.
You have to pass the physical when they give it thats all.
However I have to retake it every year.
