I'm a little late on this, and I'm just going to repeat what was brought up-

Too often I read about people and their pride, and sometimes ignorance. They said 30cpm, and when he got to training/orientation and it was 28cpm. Wow  A whole stinkin .02cpm, and having to go with a trainer for two WHOLE weeks. Since they pay 30cpm on 6 months, and they credited him 3 months, he would have 3 months with the company to go until he reached 30cpm. So, like, what? A whole $100 (pre-tax) that he missed out on to foolish pride?

Looks to me like he used his family as a pawn in his little game of "screw you carrier!" chess   He really showed them!

I'm not saying he was wrong to be upset, because he was clearly lied to. But, c'mon, over 2cpm? Besides, if they have a graduated pay scale (which he would reach before it even starts to get warm out) he obviously would be in line for ANOTHER pay raise at 1 yr (I assume).

Thats my 2 cents! (get it- irony? lol )

As for you saying I flew all the dirty laundry on here, well I didn't. There were other situations built up on that, which you don't need to know. At that point the cake was already baked, and just waiting for the icing. If you don't like that term how about the s**t to hit the fan.

I gave him another chance. How many times I gave him another chance, I don't know. As I said before, and I'll say it again. Sometimes it takes more than just love and trust to keep a family together. Sometimes, much, much more. A lot of faith, a lot of prayer, and a lot of forgivness by both parties just to name a few.

Of course we can't forget the all mighty dollar to keep a roof over the childern's heads, or dire conquences would follow.

By the way, I never went through with doing that. I can get hot headed and over emotional, and I still think he has some Itialian, Irish, or both in him. We both admit to each other that there is not another person on this planet that either of us could find that would put up with either of us.

Bamaman what is BOL??? What ever you wished us with his new job thank you.

He is very happy with this company. This is the first time since I have known him not to complain about a job in one form or another. They have done everything they said they would do. He is getting .33 cpm, and will be back home tomorrow. He will leave again either Sunday night or Monday.
Ok....Let me first start out saying that HE WAS RIGHT TO WALK. Sometimes, when one door closes, another one opens. This is why you never, and I do mean
N E V E R put up with a company who lies from the beginning. Yea, I understand it's only .02, until the next lie....then the next lie....you see what i mean? I am very glad he got with a good company....hope he does well.

As for you. I thought about difference responses all day. With over 50% of all marriages ending in divorce, and a very high rate within truck-drivers, I would guess the odds will be against you enough. However, you should know that while he is on the road, he will have enough to worry and concentrate on without having to wonder is his bank account will be there, or if you are bagging on him again on some website. You need some help.....maybe this will help you.

Tom Lycus is a radio talk host. His web site is www.blowmeuptom.com , and his number is 1-800-5800-TOM. You can catch his show 3pm- 8pm Monday-Friday, pacific time. You both might be able to learn something from him.

At least, I hope he does.

later.

Cluggy, first of all I need to apologize for yelling at you. I admit I'm tight with money especially when I don't have it. To be honest, I give him what he needs. If I did that, it would have been the first time ever. I couldn't bring myself to do that to him.

I honestly believe trucking will bring us together, because we do need time away from each other. People talk about teaming with the wife. Then there are all the responses of being cooped up with each other in a tight space not being able to get away from each other. They get on each other nerves.

Well, instead of being cooped up in the tractor, we are cooped up in the trailer. Well, 70' trailer. We really can't get away from each other as far as seperate rooms. Then add the kids. It is sometimes hard to do what you need to do with so many people cramped in a tight space.

We usually get along better after he is able to get away from "the cahos" (good though) for awhile.

Thank you for saying that you hope he does well.
