I'm not so sure of that... it appears to be pretty well-established that the van spun out on the ice and crossed the median to the other side of the road in the skid. I'm wondering if the truck driver was injured... was he local to the area... is he okay? I didn't hear anything about him/her.

Thats not always the case. Even when its not the truck drivers fault, there are tons of lawyers who would love to find a way to make it his or her fault. There have been quite few drivers invloved in accidents that were not their fault and then had it handed to them because of reasons like their log book just wasnt quite right or perhaps their truck or trailer wasnt up to regulations.
