cuz a mentor to me means someone who takes you under their wing and shows you all the ins and outs so you'll be a good driver and becomes a friend to talk to when you need help.Never met anyone like that there...

I was lucky, my trainer lived in the same city as I did.

BOL to ya.
My trainer didn't live by me, because there was a long wait at the time also. But I requested anyone from anywhere smoker non smoker I didn't care. And got a trainer the next day.

Also my trainer went home every 2 weeks. Swift pays for the trainer to put you up in a hotel. So if you get one that wants you to stay in the truck I would ask for another trainer right away.

While it's true that Swift does reimburse the mentor for putting the student in a hotel during home time, I don't think it's a mark of a bad mentor if they don't really.

My mentor offered me a hotel room, but to be perfectly honest, I preferred staying in the truck to some seedy motel. It also let me get used to "living on the road" before being thrown out on my own - I could also go inside to b/s with other drivers rather than just sit in a room stuck with nothing but HBO if I was lucky 8)

Of course, your personal mileage may vary....

Good luck
It isn't something that happens everywhere with Swift. Some terminals have plenty of trainers, others don't. You just happen to be in a location that has a shortage of trainers. Coming here and bashing a company isn't going to find you a job. If you really wanted to work you could be in with a number of companies with a quick application. It doesn't sound like you're very motivated to get to work.

Not to get into a pissing contest but if you had read what I wrote or my personal post you would know that I am looking else where. I gave him the info he was looking for.

I was out on the big wide open road, suffering the hardships of living out of a big rig, sleeping on the top bunk, eating out of a cooler or a truck stop for four days before I got to go home. I've never been so well fed and gotten so much sleep since, well never.
