It had to be some whole in the wall place in New Jersey. From the looks of that, no way I was going to spend a night there. I don't know exactly where it was at but man it was almost just a small gas station or something. Then you had to pay to stay there! I never had a big name truck stop that was really bad. Usually it was the small un-named places that scared me and made me pull away even though I was short on hours. Its like, give me a rest area instead of that

I'll tell ya, I have seen some pretty nasty TA's. The one that took the cake was the one in Binghamton, NY. The petros, J's, loves and pilots are not that bad. The only thing I hate about Pilots are that so many of there locations are so small, there is either nowhere to park, or it is impossible to get out of. There is one on 70, east of columbus, (not sure of the MM), my old man won't touch it with a 10 foot pole. It's that small.

With all the bad mouth gaven about the jessup TA, I passed it up and drove the extra 16 miles to find another Crap hole, First T/S I've ever regretted stoping at, walking thru at night, going into...

The employee's look like bums, smoke at the register *I hate SMOKE, Why would someone want to smoke* After backing into my place I was looking over my papers when a friendly folk asks for money, after his sobb story I gave him 2 bucks so he wouldnt do anything out of revenge, I have way to much cash on me plus the laptop.. Then I decided to venture inside to see how crappy the place is, then walking back I had two homeless type guys ask for money.. I told them I just gave the last guy 5 bucks he went that away >, They werent amused the least bit. So now I wait to see what they do to my truck..

The drive in was pretty bad, never have I seen such idiots they drive as if they are dieing and must make it to the hospital.. I didnt see one cop, they could be making a killing and getting these idiots off the road to boot.

Cant wait to leave in the mourning, The T/A in CA wasnt so bad, hell I had girls left and right wanting to..... well you get the picture.

That made me laugh. It is a good line and I wish I could remember things like that to repeat them but I won't and that makes me sad....

Id have to say the pilot in Denver is pretty nasty.
What really made it nasty was that once you entered the Subway that was inside of the pilot, things started to smell like serious ass.
The smell was just ...disgusting to say the leaste.

Im so sick of the subway idea.
Subway is old...I dont need to diet.

The Oasis truck stop (if you want to call it a truckstop) in Decatur IL off I-72 exit 144. Dont bother stopping at this dive you can damage your truck just going through all of the pot holes ( you could better call them giant holes) you can probably loose a car in one. and the restrooms are in serious need of a tetnus shot and a tanker full of bleach. Dont even eat the food if the restraunt is open, the food will give you the trots for weeks. If you find yourself in the area dont bother theres a walmart 1 exit west and to the south you can park in and better food right in the parking lot.

Its funny when lot bums fight each other.

In Columbia, SC, I had a guy ask me for money. I told him $5 to fold my pads and take ALL my debris (cardboard boxes) to a dumpster. This guy came up to me asking for money, and even asked if he could shine my wheels (painted). He then asked if he could shine the tanks, and I said "its a rental  ". Finally my moocher/beggar guy I hired chased him off

I usually just go into the sleeper and ignore people that come up to my truck and/or call it out on the CB the description of the person so other drivers can keep an eye out and avoid beggars.

The EZ 8 motel in Pheonix (7th street, off the 17)is NO picnic, but, damn! they have good truck parking!

I'll chime in with the chorus about the Swift terminal in Fontana. The toilets (both of them!) are usually clogged, I looked in the shower and saw bodily fluids on the wall. I nearly threw up.
They say the grass is always greener, and a lot of Swift terminals are nice or at the very least adequate. But to me, allowing that level of filth speaks poorly about management's consideration for their drivers. I know Swift is mainly a starter company for newbs like me, but their retintion levels might improve a bit if they made sure that we always had clean ammenities at the terminals. My short stay in Fontana certainly didn't make me think highly of my employer.

The Pilot and the J are like the Ritz Carlton......if you want an experience go to the NEW Laredo Truckstop on Santa Marie behind the walmart. This place has got to be in the TOP 10. By the way, there ain't nothing NEW about that dump, need to wear a body condom if you step onto that property.

Years ago used to be the only place in Laredo, the way I look at it, at least there is a Pilot and J down there now.
