Using company schooling just to get CDL.

If you don't want to start a career by lying. It doesn't matter what anyone else does. You cannot control what others do. You can control what you do. If you only want to get a CDL, find a job, save your money and pay for it yourself. That is the honest way to do it. If you don't have the money, then you may qualify for government assistance. If you do go with one of the training carriers, plan on sticking it out and honoring your commitment. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it will also make you feel good about yourself knowing that you honored your commitment.

Thank you. Finally well said. Too many people only worry about being an outlaw these days. Trucking companies can be dishonest...but if your looking for honesty youll never find it, in any profession. You can talk bad about X carrier all day long, in the end people are driving for them, some perople are happy with them, and they are cashing in everyday. CR England is one that comes to mind as having a less than favorable rep right now, but they are still in business. As a single person, you or I do the same things and we take it a lot harder especially if reported on a DAC report.
Many local vo-techs now have CDL training courses and can get help and funding for you. In this profession it doesnt matter if your a co driver, an o/op, or have your own authority someone down the line is gonna be dishonest. If you choose to follow, your not any better than the ones you speak lower of. Respect, Responsability and Commitment. Three words that will be dead in years to come. |
