It does not matter now, I have sold everything off, tractors and trailers. It is just me now, and oh is it nice! I got tired of the bs and the bs. The work ethic out here is the worst I have ever seen. And I know a few small fleet owners, and other business owners. We all say the same thing regarding the employment pool that currently exists. I can see why the illegals are doing so well. They show up for work, and actually do their jobs, what a novel idea?

I know what you mean, its just like that anti-smoker bunch on one of the other posts. They yell and scream, can't see past the ends of their noses, and offer no alternatives or solutions. Not that that bunch ever has, the gimme generation is leaving its mark. It is scary, because that bunch has discovered something that allot of us have long feared. They can now vote for what they like and dislike, no matter the consequences, or who they step on. Marxism is alive and well in the good old USA! And the courts have have gone their own way by supporting such stupidity. I guess we now have a democracy. You know what I really find scary? I go into a business to pick up or deliver, and the one guy in charge is of questionable citizenship, running a crew of white guys. Allot of times the guy can barely speak English, but after a little conversation with a manager, I find out he is the one that actually shows up for work. He shows up sober, and not hopped up on some drug. He may not be here legally, or speak much of the language, but he understands what most Americans have long forgotten. You don't get nothing for free, unless you vote for it. Go figure? No, it is getting pretty sad out here. I look at some of these guys driving these trucks. The ghetto clothes, lack of personal hygiene, long unkempt hair, etc. Not the image I like to see, and unfortunately most of the public sees it to. Some of these guys scare me, because I don't know if they are drivers or gang bangers out for an initiation murder. Seen that a few times in W Memphis.

I don't even care about superficial stuff anymore. You come to work? Great, let's go get some shit done. I'll take the crazy leather wearing freak with spikes sticking out of his skin that shows up and does a good job over the clean cut cokesnorting fucktard any day. I come from the Show Me state, get to it.

I had one of those guys working for me. He was a great worker, but the dot and shippers and receivers all gave him a hard time. They did not like his looks. And I told him as part of his employment to take that crap out of his head. He didn't, and cost me some serious cash.
Dot loved to shut him down, and I lost a very good paying expedite run on one of those deals. The damn run paid over $5000 a week for two Detroit to St Louis turns, parts down, racks back twice a week. I have no use for that bunch, no matter how good of a job they do. Looks and appearances do matter out here, especially for us little guys.

That's really sad man. Worst any employer ever had to say about my looks was some offhand crack about me being a hooligan for wearing my hat backwards. Pissed me off all to hell at the time but I don't even wear a hat anymore. I can see being presentable for 5k a week, hell yeah. But then again, you lost the run just for how the guy looked, nothing else? Well yay America.....that's pretty damn sad.

Are you not happy they care about youand want you to stay employed
