Pulled over with a CDL Permit
Just covering my arss here and is hypothetical, but say that a CDL permit holder is driving with a Full CDL holder in the passenger seat. They get pulled over and a citation is issued for overweight or worse yet, they get inspected and the vehicle doesnt pass. Who does the citation go to, the Permit holder or the guy in the passenger seat?

"you mean the driver as in the Permit Holder correct?" Yupper. The permit holder did a PTI before he took the reins, checked the load weight, knows the vehicle gross and per axle weight. Right? When you're on your own, who's gonna be checking? BOL

Although that's true, I don't think it's right. I went to a school were the equipment was horrible. Hub Seals leaking like a siv, brakes questionable, just all in all the vehicle would have been shut down if we were pulled over.
My instructor actively avoided DOT stations and admitted to the fact we would be shut down if stopped.

"I would think it would be a little different if you were in a truck from a driving school. But if you were with a CDL holder and using a permit, I would say the fault would lie with you since you are the driver."
