Default Schedule C's

The other day I got a call from Sni. Someone in the work history department. I had talked with a recruiter and submitted an application. I have been self employed for probably 20 years. They called and wanted me to fax in proof of business ownership....the Schedule C's for the last 3 years were sufficient. Why in the world is that of any importance to them?

it verifies that you were the owner of the company and you were legally self employed in the eyes of uncle sugar

I guess there must be some that would falsify information....I don't know why it seems that companies are very thorough so you wouldn't get away with it anyway.

Federal law(Home Land Security) requires that a trucking company get a 10yr employment history on all drivers. Only the last 3 years must be verified, however. That is why they only asked for the last 3 years of your Schedule C.

Unless your a foreigner who can not speak the English langage. If that's the case I think they just give you a CDL and look the other way.

That is a logical explanation.

I had to submit the last three Sched Cs also . . . but with another company. With yet another company they wanted a notarized statement from someone other than a family member stating that I was self-employed. They vary.
