It's sod, "Driver", not a real important commodity, as long as you put it down green side up, usually the results are always the same, edge protectors, or no edge protectors. Been hauling sod for 4 years, tarp, strap, and away you go, that's the way it's done...

It was a joke. I know its not going to hurt the load, its just grass itll grow back. I thought youd see the humor in that. I honestly wasnt critiquing your work at all.

I know, i thought you might get a kick out of the "greenside down" terminology, i guess only us grass haulers find that funny Anyway, when i first started, my loads were ugly, that load there was loaded, "by me of course", in about 15 minutes, total time to tarp and srap, just under half an hour, now when i first started i was lucky if i could do it in an hour

Just another Maverick troublemaker. Do you know what a Maverick is, a wild cow, running around without a brand. Mr. Maverick, a Texan, was famous for branding them and increasing the size of his herds. So how does it feel to be branded by a Texan?

That looks fun! If you don't mind my asking, how do you get paid? Hourly, by the mile, by the load? They hiring? I moved back up here to CT after striking out after CDL school down there (having zero experience didn't help my cause either). I've really had the itch lately to head back to FL (never wanted to leave in the first place), just wondering if the work situation will be any better for me now that I have some experience under my belt. I was down in Ft Lauderdale before, wouldn't mind the Tampa area at all though.

It's not too bad of a job, i get paid by the hour, 14.00, not huge money, but pretty good for florida standards. If you have gotten some experience, i would advise staying where you're at, the Florida economy is not doing too well, atleast that's what i'm noticing, home owners insurance is going through the roof, if you can even get any, and property taxes continue to rise. Put that all together with an unstable construction industry, the building of houses to be more to the point, and it makes for a pretty hit or miss place to be. Work has been really slow due to the lack of construction, we're hoping it picks up after the first of the year.

Hey, thanks for the honest answer. You definitely bring up some really good points. I can understand what you mean about construction slowing down. The housing market was getting pretty saturated even when I was still there. Oh well, guess I should just suck it up and deal with winter. Last year's wasn't too bad, here's hoping for a replay. I know where I'll be going when retirement time comes though!
