Default High Winds

Some places in Cali your stop/go decision will be made by CalDot. Not unusual for 'em to shut down I-roads during Santa Anas. I-8 in San Diego county mountains is routinely shut down for high profile vehicles such as semis and RVs including towed campers and pickups with slide-in campers. BOL

This also happens frequently in the U.K where the police will close roads and drivers have to find alternative routes, the Trans-Pennine is just about the most affected because its right up in the moors;Lovely road in summer though, with fabulous views.

pay attention to your surroundings. If you see strong gust blowing trucks around or pushing you out of your lane stop for a while and be safe.

I hear those gales over there are nothing to sneeze at wot. Heard they will take a car and blow it clean into the water from out of nowhere. I would deem that the same way sailors and such deem a nasty wave out of nowhere a Rogue Wave, except in this it would be a Rogue Wind.

I did c the after affects of 1 of the 3 blow overs on 77N mt. airy, gave me a reminder if hauling up a mt. do not ride granny lane even if posted other wise, durning heavy wind storm.. There was guardrail flattented out, after that 1 heck of a drop.. I have pulled over a few x's do to heavy winds.. Once up in pan handle I sat, and watched a bill board just rip apart, even sent in msg. that there was a possiablity that i was going to b blown over. If u have to ride on shoulder because of wind blowing u into another its x 2 pull over, if u have no weight pull over, try to find a place 2 bac into wind keep debris from coming into windshield

When pulling doubles a good sign is when Your front left steer is on the yellow line and you look into your right mirror and your trailer axles are riding on the white line taking up the entire road.

I would rather pull doubles in the high winds.

Thats right MrFord, the side winds over here can have horrific consequences for drivers. Just last year, one unfortunate Irish trucker was blown off a bridge and down a 400ft gorge.
I like to think he was dead before he hit the bottom... If you know what I mean.
