Default I might have made a mistake?...Schneider

I filled out a application with Schneider,and going to get a phone interveiw today...Then I realize I live over a 100 miles from their terminal in Memphis...My question is? Do they have a terminal or drop yard in Nashville Tennessee?

Thanks

Henry

Default Schneider

Why are you concerned about the distance? My first job, the terminal was 400 miles from my house. Very seldom saw the terminal anyway. BOL

My first driving job, my terminal was in Nashville, TN. I lived in Green Bay, WI.

100 miles is nothing.

True most carriers want service performed at the closest terminal..but who is to say that one will even be the closest when its time for an oil change? You might be in Seattle WA and there is terminal right there. Some even have bulk deals with one of the truckstop chains and you can get your service done there. It doesn't really matter if your terminal is 1000 miles away...you wont be seeing much of it...you'll see!! (no pun intended)

My first trucking job was with Schneider in '78 and I live 130 miles north of Green Bay Terminal and it was no big deal.

CONVERSION TABLE of REGULAR MILES to TRUCKER'S MILES:
100mi. = 10mi.
500mi. = 50mi.
etcetera...

The above will give you some idea as to how if feels to pass the miles in a truck as opposed to a car. 100 miles should almost feel "walkable" once you've been driving for a while.
