Default kilograms

When you pick up a load that says 26,644 kg how do you know how many pounds do you have. I found that .45 kg is equal to one pound. Do you multiply or divide. Or is it up to you (as the trucker) to figure it out.

As the driver you are ultimately responsible if your truck is overweight.

You divide by .45 to convert from kg to lbs.

Below is a web-link to a calculator.

You multiply. Your example: 26644kg = 58739.9650873lbs

One of many on line conversion sites is: http://www.chimpletons.com/convert/from/kg/to/lbs

I found a great FREE program http://joshmadison.net/software/convert/
it converts just about everything you could want.

26644kg x 2.2 = 58,617 close enough

I respectfully disagree.

Take 46,000 and divide it by 2.2, then multiply that number by 2.2046 and then see what the number is. You will find a difference of 100 lbs. Not a big difference....but would it be enough to cause a problem in a scale? Maybe.

Multiply kg x 2 and then add 10% of that result.

10 kg

10x2=20--------10% of 20 is 2--------20+2=22lbs
