First of all, you simply HAVE to have a world view (the lens) thru which you interact with everything and everyone around you.
And all the world views can be boiled down to three basic views: Eastern...There is no personal God, what you see around you is an illusion and you strive to grow to and eventually lose yourself in becoming one with Nirvana/Shiva/Life Energy. Hinduism/Buddhism/New Age all fall under this. The concept of God is not one that is beyond the universe but IS the universe. Western...a single personal God. Judaism, Christianity, Islam all fall under this. God is above and beyond the universe and created it all. Atheism...there is no God, we are on our own, just candles in the wind that get snuffed out at the end. Atheism/Materialism/Naturalism...all fall under this. Morality is a human invented thing so the statements Hitler killed three million jews and it rained last night mean the same....because it all doesn't really matter if we just....snuff out. As I see it, an Agnostic is someone who won't claim any world view is valid....that isn't a belief; it's simply ignoring the whole thing. So the default view for an agnostic is probably Materialism (atheism). As an agnostic, it is tough trying to balance "on the fence". Trust me, I know as I was one for years. But....ya gotta choose...ignoring it is ignoring one of life's great questions and challanges....so come on, jump off the fence and do the soul searching and reading to find your way. Come on in, the water's great... And you're right, this probably should not be in the new driver area. But it was fun to respond to....sorry bout the long winded post.

A painter, paints.
A sculptor, sculpts. A builder, builds. You can say a building was built by a builder. Therefore, Creation was Created by the Creator. God. When you believe in God you can accept no other belief system, otherwise you do not believe in God. Think of your belief this way. You are on a plane. You are given a parachute to wear, you know the plane is going to crash. After a while the parachute becomes very uncomfortable, do you take it off, knowing you are going to crash, or will you wear it, no matter what, because it will save your life? Believe in God offers no guarantees other than your eternal salvation, no matter how rocky the road getting there.

Religion and Politics. TWO subjects you'll NEVER see this 'Loud Mouthed New Yorker" comment on so for those of you who think I put my two cents in on everyone's threads, lookie here:
I have absolutely nothing to say here agreeing or disagreeing! On that note here's how a bible came to be in my truck. One weekend while parking my rig at my usual place here in Queens NY, I saw the security guard across the street and went over to say hello to him. As I shook his hand I slipped him a $10 bill and thanked him for keeping an eye on my truck now and then. Two weeks past before I saw him again and when I did he came running over to my truck and while shaking my hand hello and all out of breath he slipped me a small, black, pocket bible. He said I should keep it with me and read it from time to time. We wished eachother well and that little book has been near my bunk ever since.
