Trudy Be careful coming down Siskyou Summit (I-5 NB) 6% for six miles , Canyon Creek Pass (I-5 NB)6% for eight miles, Sexton Mtn I-5 SB 6% for 4 miles. And Cabbage on I-84. I have seen many trucks who have cooked their brakes on those hills.

On the steeper hills, how slow do the signs tell you to go
Truck weight: 40,000-50,000 35mph 50,000-60,000 30mph 60,000-70,000 25mph The speeds and weights given are just a made up example, but that is pretty much how the signs will look. The weight is your total weight, not just load weight. Remember you will go down a steep grade to fast only once, after that you will need a change of underpants and you will never make that mistake again!
