Does the CDL replace your current drivers license? Hows does that work since my current drivers license is from another state?

Well, you better have just one license. Much big fine for having more than one. You must have your license from the state that you reside in. Yes,when you get your Class A,it will replace your Class C. If you do have more than one license,or you have a license that says you live in another state, you need to get in touch with the DPS in your state, and get it changed.(I may be wrong,so yall correct me,if I am)

When you get a CDL you are entered into a national database.
IIRC the entire idea of the CDL was to stop drivers from having a "bingo card" of licenses from different states and speeding with impunity. But I was in 5th grade when the CDL went into effect, feel free to correct me here.
In theory you could get a class C license in more than one state. I know that some people who lose their C for DUIs in one state will venue shop to another for a license.

The CDL will replace your current liscence. With the exception of motorcycles you can drive any class of vehicle that is under your liscence class.
Getting caught with more than one liscence as a CDL holder is a big no, no now. It can result in the suspension of your CDL.

Yes, you can legally have two licenses from two different states. Heck, you can have 10 from 10 different states. But you cannot have two from the same state. That's a big no-no. You can legally have two "commercial" licences from two different states, but if one is suspended you can't drive (commercial trucks) in any of the states, no matter how many cdls you have (Fed Reg). On the 4-wheeler side, you can be suspended in one state, and drive in another, if you have a valid license in the state you're driving in. The reason for this is a regular drivers licens is state-governed only, non-fed. CDL's are fed regulated, thus the same regs apply in all states to those. I deal with this every day at work. Hope that helps.

I know if you have your CDL learners permit, you have to licenses. One is your regular Class C, the other is your permit.
I wonder if you can have your regular Class Cs, your Class B permit, AND your Class A permit at the same time? Or if you swapped to Class A permit, would it replace your Class B permit?... :?: :?:

WRONG-You can only Have ONE license
The reason for CDL was to Prevent Multiple Licenses.

You can have different licenses, just don't ever let the police find out.
