Default Memorial day 2014

We don't often think about those who have sacrificed so much for this nation. We only have one day that we usually set side to honor those who have fallen in service to this country. It doesn't seem to be enough for the price those fallen hero's paid. I think most people thing of Memorial Day as a day to cook out or spend with the family. It is great to spend time with our family, but is also good to remember those families who don't have their love one around this year. Those whom we honor paid the ultimate price with their life, but those whom they left behind have also paid a price. A wife no longer has her husband. Children no longer have a father. If you know family members who have lost someone close, this would be a good time to tell them how much you appreciate the sacrifice they and their loved one made for this country. Our military do whatever is asked of them, even if it costs them their lives. I would like to offer thinks to those who frequent this board who have lost family in service to their country.

It must be difficult for you on Memorial Day, Fozzy. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose a son in a war. I have thought of you and Michael during this weekend. I feel fortunate to live in an area of the country where we still respect our military and the sacrifices they make. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I'm back in California.. and attended the ceremonies today at the newest National Cemetery.. there were a LOT of people there today. I rode with the PGR and stood the flag line with them. Lots of military support here.. But Travis AFB is very close.. and Californians have always gone to wars better than the average.

Thats very nice Fozzy, I take it Micheal was fond of Orange Crush?
It's a shame that we only have one day set aside for our fallen and so many don't even observe that one.

I thought of you, Fozzy (and of course Micheal) this Memorial Day... and posted as such on my Facebook page. But, I think of you often. The grave looks beautiful. Glad to hear you are out and about. I haven't visited your blog lately (busy after finding my daughter,) but... I will make the time to catch up. Good to see you back on the forum now and then.

Actually thats "Big Peach"...He loved the stuff. We had to stop placing the white 101st Airborne flags... they usually are stolen within a few days.

The Blog hasn't been something that I do often.. I have one working.. but its rather depressing..
