Default Auto Shift Problemds

my 2007 Freightliner with eaton auto shift had shift problems so we replaced the x y shifter. Now it shifts up and down fine.

Now when your parked it will not go into gear unless the truck rolls..so if in reverse and it rolls back it will go into gear, same thing in forward. any ideas whats wrong with this thing guys?

Sounds like a clutch / clutch brake issue.. but that's just my opinion.

Ya, it's an automatic. JUNK! The last company I was with had autos and they were nothing but problems. Some had the same issue that you have now.

Other than the original bunch of shift tops that were a manufacturing problem, the autos we have, have been less trouble and have been less apt to be abused by drivers than the manuals we had before.
