I've seen trucks built like that here. I believe it was either LP gas or fertilizer, but with the double front axle and the axles on the rear, they were supposed to be able to carry loads that would match a semi. As far as I know, they didn't pull any trailers, but the trucks were awesome. I remember seeing them at a Kenworth dealer in WI. But from what Mitch said, I doubt top-heavy was the issue. Especially when I read that it slid sideways for a while before it rolled.

You lads aren't the only ones that do that. There are a few companies here that do that too... But, in some cases, it's for running the toll roads. If the wheels don't touch the pavement, there's no toll for those axles. I've had 3 steps stacked on mine and 3 drivers bobtailed to save on the tolls. When you think of the tolls on a 3 or 4 axle trailer, it's a bit of a savings over a year's time.

I bet that trailer got going over, and there was nothing he could do to correct, just hang onto something.

Here's a picture of those Burling Transport trucks.
We would use double trailers... but these trucks are built different.

That's quite an odd site for those of us in the western hemisphere, to see KW's with 3 wipers, mirrors that look like Freightliner Columbia surplus, round headlights, and what appear to be bias tyres.

I've seen a couple "parked" like that here in this country too. One along I-80 in PA, just a quarter mile from the OH line. Only takes seconds for a driver to park it like that, hours to "un-park" it, and days (or weeks) to get it back on the road.

How tall was the stump he jumped in order to get it up that high???
