Not Guilty

It's scary to think that you can be arrested for a crime you know nothing about because you never committed it.
The guy in New Orleans who was nearly sent to death won a $14 million settlement but the Supreme Court overturned it and said he could not have it due to a 1976 ruling by them that stated prosecutors are immune from lawsuits. Now had he been put to death the family probably would have gotten it but because he was spared he didn't get to keep it, never mind all the time he spent in jail and his name forever sullied, that's not repairable.

This is what we get for electing politicians who run on a platform of "tough on crime". After being too soft on crime for quite a while the 1980s brought us the "War on crime", the "War on drugs" and a war on this, that and the other.
And now we wake up and say "But I thought justice should be just"? Don't mean to sound harsh but didn't you see that one coming? |
