I remember someone a few years ago decided that Jesus was also marred. According to the author Jesus was married to Mary Magdalen. I don't believe either. There is nothing about it in the Bible and no proof. If we were to believe what those two stated it would destroy the whole concept of an omnipotent God. The people of this earth have had pagan gods for many centuries. I think that there is sufficient evidence to support that there is only one TRUE GOD. The Christian faith is under attack from all fronts these days. I have never seen anything like it. I think that they are setting the world up for the anti Christ to come on the scene. We are seeing a consolidation of power in the Middle East and the groundwork has been set for the collapse of the U.S. and world economies which could introduce a one world currency. We are living in very interesting times.

 

I might agree with you except for the fact that this is pottery from about 800 BC, and the old Hebrew name for God is Yahweh. I'd like to find more about Lillith, but this is the first time I've ever heard of Asherah. I plan to do a bit more research on this one. It would not be the first time that archaeology put a slightly different slant on biblical text. At this point, I'm going to reserve judgement till I know more.

I am always amzed that people belive in the bible as the written word of GOD, yet various books of the bible have been hand picked by men who were nothing more then mear mortals with no more of an inside track to the big guy then you and I.. If it helps you get through your day then more power to you. If you are one of those guys who says "I would rather believe just in case it is real then the creator has already seen through you and you are doomed to be right beside me in the gates of Hell to enjoy the taste of that young woman Hog posted.. Yummy I cant wait I bet she taste like honey and sugar..

It seems that Asherah also had two other names. Astarte, and Istar. Except for one text that hints that they were three different individuals. That would suggest that Yahweh may have 3 wives. No wonder he doesn't talk to any mortals anymore.

I can just imagine... Next time the neighbor and his wife have a good fight, I'll have to tell them they fight like Gods.:lol::roll:

Over the years I have seen over and over again that things in the Bible have been proven to be accurate. It seems as though every time someone sets out to disprove the Bible that they wind up proving that it is correct. I do believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. Frankly, I don't see how anyone could NOT believe that there is a God.

 

What I'm finding is that there is far more damage being done to "belief in the Bible" by the believers than the non-believers. It seems that most non-believers generally don't say much about it until the subject comes up. The ones that are more vocal are few. Most believers quietly live their lives and maintain their beliefs. But the radical element that takes every occasion to speak out, and don't let anyone else get a word in edge-wise are the ones. If you listen to what they say, their quotes from the bible are inaccurate, but you're going to burn in Hell if you don't agree with them. Then, you also find out that they frequently use pot, pills, and their travel agency may be LSD. Their elevators don't go within six floors of the top, and they're playing solitaire with a deck of 49. And, if the damage they do isn't bad enough, I've also seen some of the "proof" that some of the leading "CREATIONISTS' are giving against evolution and they are even worse. They don't just voilate the laws of physics, but they do so blatantly. Actually, it even goes beyond that. And, again, if you don't believe them, you're going to burn in Hell. No wonder so many people have so many problems believing in it.

What I've been finding out is that God uses natural events a whole lot. He doesn't violate the laws of nature and physics, he USES them. You get to realize he had a hand in it when you look at the timing of the event. Proof of God? You can do everything BUT put your finger on him. The largest amount and most damage done for those that might otherwise believe comes from the WHACKOS and fringe element that puts their own "spin" on the passages that we all get to read. It looks like the biggest conflict between evolution and creation is....

When you listen to all the radicals, each is branching the Bible off into his own branch and going his/her own way. Science has a way of trimming those branches and bringing everything into one channel, and correcting all the mis-information. That means the radical can not have their own way. So, all those that have been finding bits and pieces of evidence, then putting those pieces together to learn what really took place, are going to burn in Hell. They'll throw scientific fact away because then they will have to admit they were wrong. They can't do that.

So, all the people that have a problem believing what is being SPEWED as fact can't believe in the Bible, which goes hand in hand with there can not be a God.

 

Won't it be somethng, if as each of us walk through the gates to God's heaven.....We learn that our "Universe" is nothing more than a speck of sand....On God's "Sea of Life"??


Scientists want everyone to go with the "Big Bang Theory", for the creation of our Universe. BUT.....What exactly caused to "big bang" in the first place?? Was it God snapping his fingers and whispering...."Let there be life!" :bow:

The hardcore bible thumpers want us to "Fear God". :block: If God loves me.......why in heavens name should I fear him. Believe in HIM...yes. Trust in HIM...yes. Work hard to be of good moral character because of HIM...yes. Love HIM as he loves me...yes. Work to help others because HE wants US to be like HIM...yes.

Fear HIM......Not today thank you.
