CAN YOU GUESS WHAT THIS IS???
Can you get it on the first picture or second or third or? Do you have to wait till the fourth?? New Cook County Correctional Center, Chicago, Illinois Oh yeah, they can also choose from the menu!? Let me see now .. Who was the US Senator who helped arrange the funds to build this beautiful "punishment center"??? Oh yes, it was Senator Obama!!! No wonder he sees nothing wrong with the wasted spending in his "Stimulus Plan". This is where the Administration plans on putting the terrorists from Gitmo, and we have Americans living in cardboard boxes on the streets that have never killed anyone. Nothing makes sense anymore. How's that compare with "Sheriff Joe's" prison in Arizona ????

There just MAY BE G. They have built several new prisons south of Beaumont.....but you can't see any of them from a truck stop. Of course..you can almost see the "cheap seats" for the new Beaumont High Schools (they went cheap....2 schools share that field) football field. That whole "Friday Night Lights" deal that Texas is proud of ya know. For certain you can see the lights from Petro....heck...You can see em from the terminal I am based out of!

I never said that I was wrong. It could be that the Snopes was wrong.

As far as i know this is a PRIVATELY OWNED PRISON not federal. 2ndly if the people that are supposed to be kept there are not tried and conviced of anything, why are you suggesting this is not sufficient punishment? I remember this country being built on a RULE OF LAW. 3rd a prision shouldnt be so horrible that the convict is worse when he comes out than when he goes in, it should be an environment of reformation at teaching people a way to live outside other than the way they have been doing it leading to their conviction. I dont want people to learn how to be a better criminal and desensitized to violence in prision, thats just counterproductive..but i see how we wouldnt agree on that point.

Who would have thought that we would ever have privately owned prisons in this country? Often, prisons do make criminals much worse than when they went in. Prison should be about punishment. On the other hand, we should be able to turn some of them around where they won't ever return. It would be great if we could rehabilitate them where they will never return. Unfortunately, that is usually not the case. The return rate is very high. I think it is something like 80% return after being released.
If this country continues on the current path, those new prisons could be used as rehabilitation centers for political dissidents. If you are very vocal about your criticism of those in power, you could be sent to one of those prisons to help change your thinking so that you will come around to their way of thinking. |
