I listen to this song all the time and love this live version of it. Hopefully sometime I can catch Satch live! Thanks for posting.

![]() photo of my most recent guitar, 1965 Epiphone FT 45N called the "Cortez." (made in Kalamazoo) My sister got this at a yard sale for $5. This thing is in excellent shape, with a perfect neck. This guitar is more valued between low end $800 up to a couple thousand.

Love those old pieces of wood!
Let's bring these worlds together: Joe Satriani and a bunch of other talented folks covering Neil Young's "Cortez the Killer": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paeNnR33i5Q

I require this song every so often. I'd probably tell you why if I knew.

And a version where they talk about it. Now don't go running for the hills, it's actually pretty interesting. You musical types might like it.

I'm not the biggest Steely Dan fan (a bit "lite" for me), but I always enjoy "making of" features, and I particularly enjoyed the bit where Larry Carlton talked about his role in the process. Thanks for posting that, MichiganDriver - really interesting stuff.
