wish me luck, off to celedon orientation
#1
well, the time is almost here, off to the bus stop in a few hours. Last time I did this it didn't turn out so well since the 3rd party recruiter cut corners to get me in the door. This time I went directly through celedon and other than a speeding ticket (14 miles over) I am squeaky clean. They know all my issues this time around and even verified everything b4 they purchased the bus ticket so I should be good to go. Lets just hope since the last time I had to back a 53 in the hole was dec I can make the back. Other than that I am good to go.

Good luck to ya Geeshock. That's one good thing about Celadon - if they put you on the bus, you've got a job unless you fail the driving or physical.
Just a hint - don't smoke any pot in the laundry room while you're there like someone did 3 weeks ago (while they were in orientation). From what I heard, they've been calling everyone in that was in the terminal during that time period for a drug test.

As far as I know, it would be to Indianapolis. I think that's the only place they do their orientation.
I'm sitting at a shipper now enjoying their guaranteed detention. I got here last night at 8pm for a p/u on an open appointment until midnight. They didn't have all the product and decided to hold the load until it's complete. So far it's been 8hrs paid @ 12.50/hr and am looking at 3-4 more hours. Getting paid to sleep rules.

Good deal. Not sure why they decided to stretch out the Monday orientation to end on Thursday. If I'd known that's what they did, I would've went on Wednesday and had the truck on Friday.
Oh - not sure if this has been mentioned, but you've probably heard: We used to be able to go to any Pilot or Flying J for fuel whenever we needed, instead of following the fuel routing the computer sends. That's changed. Now we HAVE to go where the computer tells us, and can only get the amount of fuel they say in the routing. They just ran me from just west of St Louis to Richmond, VA. Started with 1/2 tank and got 89 gallons of fuel. I'm sitting in Richmond now with 1/8th tank of fuel. The only reason I have that much left is because my load is 2,500lbs (mountains didn't kill me) and it's been cool at night so the truck is shut down. 1 night of idling would destroy their fuel routing. It's gonna be fun...
