How to lose the "steering wheel holder" stereotype.

The people tossing around those labels most of the time are suffering from some kind of insecurity issue. The term isn't brought on by anything that new people do as much as it is by self-described old hands who don't feel special enough for some reason. I'd venture to guess that 40% of them are brand new themselves and 100% of them have little peckers.

You know, Vito? I've been following most of your posts here for years, and I always thought you were a sensible guy, so I'll pull up just short of calling you a LIAR! ![]() I think you are wrong, but I can't quote several links to prove it. I believe that MOST of the "offenders" really ARE oldtimers with lots of experience in all kinds of trucking situations. I don't believe these oldtimers are insecure at all. They may not be well educated... but, they know what they know. I'd lean more towards thinking that about 80% of the offenders are oldtimers (probably grandfathered in with a Chauffeur's license,) and biased against anyone who didn't "farm" their way in like THEY did. And if you believe what they say on the CB.... NONE of them have short peckers!

(when you meet this guy in person, you realize the true meaning of the term "Spacktarded Nutless Monkey"...and I mean that in a good way)
I have to give him props here though. He really has skills.

Illinois.
I've been stuck in the purgatory known as CA since I was four. Last I checked, I still bleed red, don't know about the creatures in LA or Nay Area though. |
