Default Jack Harrison dies at 97

We talk about supporting our troops fighting for our freedom.
We say "Good Bye" to names we'll miss in the movies and on TV.
Perhaps, we should also say "Good Bye" to those that have given so much
in the past, before our own time, and showed all of us the way.

Jack Harrison is not a name we've heard often, but what he was part of was honored by a movie with names like James Garner and Steve McQueen.
The part he played was not small, and it was not "make believe". It was very real, and how he played it meant the difference between life and death.
Quote:
LONDON - Jack Harrison, who survived the Great Escape plot by Allied prisoners in a German prison in World War II, has died at age 97, his family said.Harrison died Friday at Erskine veterans' home in Bishopton, Scotland.
And, it seems the quality of the man did not diminish with age.
Quote:
"To others he was considered a war hero, but to us he was much more than that. He was a family man first and foremost as well as a church elder, Rotarian, scholar, traveler and athlete," his son Chris and daughter Jane said in a statement. They said Harrison took up marathon running in his seventies to raise money for charity.
