I think it's great people are fed up and now willing to vote out the trash.

Maybe that will help some realize they are in a position of trust, and must to do the will of the people, or they too will be looking for another job, next election.

I think most people also realize, we are not going to repair all the damage, or get rid of the Culture of Corruption in just a few election cycles.

Possible, but I don't think it will be quite the same. If they want to keep their jobs, they're going to be just a bit more careful about how they pass laws. Unless they're complete idiots, and then we don't need them in there either. Things have been done during this administration that were not done before. As a result, the people are reacting in a way they have not done before either. You'd have to be pretty blind not to see the "action and reaction".

Unless your a Democrat fan..........all I hear is Democrat fans defending their party and what they have done as being true American Patriots and that anyone who votes against them is a blind idiot. No, I am not singling anyone out on this board, just the public in general. As for the other side of the aisle, many are railing against them because of the tactics they have been using lately to shut down Congress on bills that actually were good bills for everyone. The public was in support and yet the Repubs were filibustering to shut those down also. It's been a 2 way street with both parties angering the American people but in different ways. Some incumbents will get re-elected but many will not, gonna be a whole lot of newbie's in there by 2012.

Like here in IL. The Republican running for the 11th District was called up for his Annual Gaurd Training. The INCUMBANT DEMONCRAP ran an ATTACK ad staing HE COULD NOT SERVE THE PEOPLE OF THE DISTRICT WHILE HE IS IN THE MILITARY. She dropped 15% in the polls after that one hit. Even the Local Cook County Board LITE as we call them is running scared they stand to loose control of the County they hold so DEAR AND THE TAXES THEY LOVE TO RAISE. They had 4 Incumbants REFUSE to run for Reelection and therefore republicans will take those seats back and in the one contested race the Incumbant is LOSING by double didgits to a newcomer.

What is the GOP say they will do that is resonating Get rid of 60% of the Commitees cut the Board size by 50% from 29 Members to 15 and also make the Board pay Part time. The Democrats want it to remain like it is. Outside of Cook County THE GOP Candiate for GOV in IL is dominating for one reason. EVERYONE IS SICK OF THE COOK COUNTY MACHINE.

I agree with you, Hoggie. We ALL had this discussion a few YEARS ago about "term limits, campaign finance reform, and "fresh blood" in the Congress!

Maybe that will help some realize they are in a position of trust, and must do the will of the people, or they too will be looking for another job, next election.
Agreed and granted.... BUT, we all need to remember that there are LOTS of people in these "representatives'" districts that MAY have opinions DIFFERENT from YOURS..... and, THEIR vote (and their concerns) should have a VOICE in "local" public policy (if not National.)

What I'm saying is, there are people out there, of BOTH "political persuasions," with similar concerns about the way our country is headed. However.... no ONE "viewpoint" has a CLEAR majority in this nation.... as proved by recent "free elections."

I think most people also realize, we are not going to repair all the damage, or get rid of the Culture of Corruption in just a few election cycles.
Well I don't AGREE that MOST people "also realize." I find MOST people pretty SLOW to come around to reality. And ALL too quick to "expect" change! But, I think it's great that SOME intellectuals are among those who hang teabags off of their hats! :hellno:
