SLR Camera

I had one (SLR) before I went digital. Not the one you're considering. Mine was getting quite old, but the shutter speed was fast enough to stop an airplane prop. Also had very good detail when the photo was enlarged. I had some of mine blown up to 24 X 36 and they did not look the least bit grainy. But, if you take a lot of pics, developing can become an "investment". Take enough pics in one week of driving so that the developing costs add up to $309,00 and you'll see what I mean.
With the digital, I can delete pics that don't turn out the way I want while I'm downloading them into the computer. That I know of, that's not an option with film. Of course, I'm not familiar with the model you're talking about. Are they making SLR in digital now?

My friend has the Alpha and really likes it. Infact, I have one of his photos framed in my dining room. The guy is pretty good and has won a few photo contests.
Myself, I prefer the Canon EOS line, cleaner looking chip/sensor for enlargements and better high ISO for darker shots. And there are more lens choices with the Canon, both new and used. Either way though, from what my friend has told me of the Sony, it is a very good camera. Mike |
