My dad came by the house yesterday and we talked about Peter Graves. He said, "You remember the airplane movies? He was the pilot." I said, "Yeah.. Sure was funny." He said, "Ya know.. as stupid as those were, you couldn't find a better man to play the part. It would be like Jack Elam playing a serious part." I just laughed.
Like I told my dad, the airplane movies were the ones I mostly remember. His westerns and the mission impossible series were before my time. Every once in a while, they will show a western that Graves was in on the westerns channel.

Wow! What an education! First, I only heard on the radio today (or yesterday) that Graves was the younger brother of James Arness. Seriously..... I never knew that!

Then to hear that Mannix was a THIRD brother? Wow!

And THEN...... the picture on the youtube video link???? I used to watch the show, and yeah... I liked the song too (more later,) but.... I didn't remember Leonard Nimoy being in the show! But, then.... I haven't seen an episode in over 2 (maybe 3) decades! :eek2:

Anyway.... sorry to see ya go, Pete! Job well done.:thumbsup:

I was watching an interview with James Arness some several years ago on A&E, or one of those intertainment channels. He mentioned Peter Graves being his brother. I just about fell out of the chair.

As far as I know, James Arness is still living. He's retired, and still living in Dodge (just kidding )

I'm pretty sure James lives in Tucson.

Carrie Underwood has a home across the street,
and I'd hide out in the Oleanders in front of James mansion stalking her, hoping to see her in her skimpy jogging outfit.

I'd often fall asleep, and James would come out in the morning to get his paper, and hear me snoring and chase me off.
...then he got dogs, and I haven't been back.

You are going to end up just like that dude that got thrown in the pokey for stalking Erin Andrews.
I'm gonna be listening to the Factor.

In the 'Is it Legal' segment, Megyn Kelly joins us. So tell me, who is this guy?
Well..his name is Roadhog, and he's stalking celeberties...
..On the internet.
Actually, Jessica Simpson was searching for a moving company
and she came across this site, and this guy, Roadhog mentioned some things about her..
Mostly things that we can't discuss on tv.
We can't find him, but we've been reading his posts.

Hey...I didn't know either that James Arness was Peter Graves' brother too until today. Anyway, I now know. Oh and, by the way, Mike Connors is not a brother to either one of them, as he is from California and from Armenian descent instead of being from Minnesota and from Norwegian and German descent.

I remember, shortly before the "Manix" series ended, Connors was on a talk show. He mentioned that he had been offered the part of Marshall Dillon, and suggested they offer it to his brother, James Arness. So, I always figured they were brothers too.

Well.... so much for getting my education from CAD!

It appears that Mannix was NOT one of the TWO brothers originally named Aurness.

I can't BELIEVE that I got sucked into that one, given my distrust of MOST things I hear on CAD! :eek2:
