I always liked him. In fact, I preferred him to his brother. He always came across as someone with such grace and style. It was so strange when the airplane movies came out. It was so out of character for him. I think that is one thing that made the movies so funny.

Actually, there were 3 brothers. The first one (I don't remember his name) played "Mannix" (A private investigator) on TV for a few years. The story goes that he was first offered the roll of Mat Dillon and suggested his brother James might take it. I liked all 3 of them, but Peter Graves was the best of them.

I remember when "Airplane" was released. I was a private pilot, building hours, and had always dreamed of becoming an airline pilot. Unfortunately, in those days, the airlines didn't seem to want to hire visually impaired, severely dyslexic pilots.

Still there was a place for me in the industry. I attended "Burlitz Language Training Academy" in Detriot, and became an FAA Certified "Jive Translator".

He was a great voice on A and E's "Biography", and also served the "made-for-tv" movie realm quite well.

Anyone remember that early 70's nugget called "Where have all the people gone"?
Weird solar flare occurs, turns most of everyone on the planet into a white powder.

This movie got its idea from the Star Trek "TOS" episode, "The Omega Glory".
Essentially, some virus kills non-immune humans and then breaks them down into supposed trace elements.

But, if you feel like snorting human remains, do so at your own risk.

Mike Connors played Mannix. I didn't know that there was another brother. In any case I liked all three of them, too.

I liked him best in Mission Impossible. I liked that theme song too.

I love that theme song. I enjoyed the remake of Mission Impossible, but there is nothing like the original. I never missed an episode of the old series. They didn't rely on special effects like the remake.
