I kinda get the jist that the CEO of Toyota was thinking about "Hari Kari". An engineering and design problem that was let go in favor of the bottom line.

The most popular car in the world being recalled... Oh, they humiliation of it all.

Master of puppets pulling strings to even the playing field between Toyota and their American counterparts. It will play out the way it's supposed to.

Hate to tell you, but Subaru, Toyota, Honda, BMW & Mercedes are more of an American car than anything built by GM, Ford or Chrysler.

I have two Toyotas...a Sienna and a Camry. And despite everything that has happened, I will still be hard pressed to buy anything else when the time comes.

There is more to this Toyota deal than meets the eye. Compare the wild press that Toyota is getting vs. the Firestone tires and the GM gas tanks and other forced recalls. There's a pretty big discrepancy between the hand slap GM got and an all out lynching that Toyota is getting.

In other words, I ain't buyin' the hype. But I will buy Toyota again.

My best friend had an 07 Tundra. Toyota :argue: :argue: gave him the run around on his "perceived" mechanical problems, until he finally got rid of the pick up a year ago.

My friend Pat is a pretty good mechanic. He didn't want Toyota voiding the warranty, which is why he didn't fix the problems himself.

Now......Toyota is recalling everything in sight, over those "perceived" problems, and Pat is driving a Ford.

His wife has a Hybrid Camry and loves the 36 mpg. But she isn't saying no to him buying her a Corvette (he is buying himself a Camaro). Pat will probably try out the new GMC Sierra Hybrid pickup, once a few things at work are settled. He puts 70-75 thousand miles a year on his pickups.

Same here when I retire my minivan it will be with a Toyota one. Why no one But a IMPORT makes one that my wife 6-1 and I fit in at 6-6. The lastest Generation Chrysler POS is designed for people less than that I swear. GM does not even make one. Yet I can get into a Toyota Honda or KIA with room to spare.

Only if every executive that Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge has ever had goes to jail as well. I challenge you show me one auto company that has never had a recall, most due to potentially dangerous problems. My 2001 F250 right now has 2 recalls on it. First is that the Cam Positioning Sensor can suddenly go out and the motor die causing you to lose brakes and steering. The other is a problem with the brakes and steering that can cause them to suddenly stop working. My 1995 F150 had a recall for the cruise control that could result in the vehicle catching on fire. We won't even mention the Ford Pinto and the exploding fuel tank!

Everyone picks on Toyota due to their incorrect belief that Toyota is a foreign auto company. Yes, it is owned by a foreign company, so is Dodge. There are more Toyotas manufactured in the United States than any other manufacturer. This translates into more US jobs in manufacturing, sales, service and transporation (that includes us, the truck driver!)
