What do you think about Toyota?

You folks want to take a look at an old movie, with Yule Brenner? Title is "WESTWORLD". Completely computerized resort with robots, where nothing can go wrong... Go wrong... Go wrong...
There were problems with solid linkage, and cable linkage where throttles might stick, but they did not go any farther than the drivers put down the peddle. I doubt that the problems are in the software. More likely, in the physical connections between components, or in the choice of components themselves. May also have something to do with the placement of the components as well. They are doing their level best to show the consumer that nothing can go wrong... go wrong... go wrong... Just to give you an example of the possibilities, nothing to do with a car. A guy brought in a chain saw. Paid $300 for it brand new. Runs fine till it warms up. Then, it dies and won't run. On virtually any 2-stroke engine, I can take the carb off, put a few drops of gas into the intake, turn the engine over and get it to fire... But not this one. Check the timing and that's not off. The saw is so new, it isn't even dusty, so all the parts are brand new. There's gas, there's spark, there's air, everything but ignition. So, if something can go wrong in a simple mechanism like a 2-stroke engine, think of the possibilities in something as complex as a car computer. I don't think it's a problem just for Toyota. I think the entire auto industry is going to face some of the same things. Toyota simply is the first, and accelleration is what they are facing. GM and Ford had problems with the electronic ignition back in the years when they first came out with that.

W, Toyota says those situations can't happen in real life yet these incidents keep happening and Toyota has no legit explanation anymore.................maybe, just maybe they need to start looking at those "impossible" situations a little bit more. When you've looked at and worked on the mechanical parts that could be the problem and it still happens it's obviously not mechanical, any good mechanic will tell you that. You work on what you think it is, if that doesn't fix it and you've exhausted everything on that side, it's time to replace the computer or check the computer.
They know their excuses are running thin, they know their "fix's" aren't working so like you said, it's damage control now. Spin spin spin like a politican to save face.

That's BS. I had a 460, got 33 mpg.
1. unplug four plug wires. 2. Open drivers side door. 3. Stick left out until it reaches the ground. 4. Push off like you do a skateboard, over and over.

So, does anyone else find it odd that all of a sudden, every Toyota car out there is going haywire?
Yeah, Toyota has a problem. But I don’t buy for a second that any of these occurrences that seem to pop up in the news a dozen times a day, are anything more than someone trying to grab a chunk of cash and 15 minutes of fame. Sure Toyota is a big company. Sure, they probably have come issues in the computer or some physical connection. I got that. Everybody else understands that, too. Including competing car companies and any person feeling they can get something for nothing. Unfortunately, it forces Toyota to put more and more time, money, and effort into PR, instead of devoting everything to fixing the problem. Every company has issues and recalls. GM is currently going through a huge recall right now, but where is the media frenzy on that? Nowhere. Again, I don’t buy it. The 59 year old that had the cop help him stop is scamming, plain and simple. And there’s a lot more out there like him.

It seems like every time I turn around, I hear someone else having a problem. I understand that there are thousands and thousands of Toyota's, but just how many actually have the recall problem? I'm sure there is a lot of them, but it's funny how you hear of someone on the news, getting in an accident, in a Toyota, almost on a daily basis.

Sorta makes me wish I had a Toyota that I didn't want to pay for any more. Think of the fun I could get away with!!!
