I have heard those Lone Stars are pretty pricey, Midnight Flyer. I have seen a few of them around, but perhaps the price tag keeps them from selling more of them. I heard that they are the most aerodynamic truck on the market today. But then I spoke with a guy from Freightliner who wanted to sell me a new Cascadia who told me that the Cascadia was the most fuel efficient truck on the market. Given the two I would opt for the Lone Star. I just like the look of them much better. But then I have no intentions of buying a new truck of any kind at this point.

I saw a Lone Star at the local International dealer a while back. I took a couple pictures of it. As far as seeing one on the highway, etc, I haven't.

CalArk out of Little Rock has 5 of them on the road right now, three "Brimstone Red" and 2 "Royal Blue". Safety Award trucks.

There is a "Can-hauler" in New Orleans driving a black one....$148K is what he said he paid for his. It has the 19" lcd tv with blue ray, Dell slim-line computer and a Tripac apu.

I saw one monday in Chicago, that had a company name I can't remember...it was out of Michigan and was pulling a hopper bottom.

I can't afford the payments...so I don't gotz one.

I can't imagine anyone going into that much debt with this economy. I hope they have some really good contracts. To tell you the truth, I don't think that I would want to get that much into debt if the economy was doing well. That is a lot of money for a truck.

I heard you on that GMAN. If a truck has a sticker price of say $148,000 the minute you drive it away from the lot it depreciates a couple of grand before you've driven a block! As you once said a truck is just a tool to make money. A cheapo socket set can do the same job and just as well as a big name brand set of socket wrenches. The same way with a truck.

that's what i kind of like about Werner, to bad they are an OTR company, if they had the right Dedicated account i get at em...
Add the new Pete 386, the Kenworth W900, and T660 to that list.

As y'all may know, the Classic XL, 379, and W900L are on the way out, as are the Century's.

To answer the original question, around the middle of this year was when the ProStars took to the road for us. The first ones had TriPacs, but the newer ones don't. They only have fuel-fired bunk heaters. (One of my trainers just got one from Omaha, and it's already headed for the shop to repair a leaking roof)

Hawk, you're in the wrong neck of the woods for the 'right' dedicated account. Dollar General and Family Dollar should be available where you are, but that's about it.
