Default my review of the cat c-15 acert

yeah i guess i'm alittle behind the times. my company truck is down for a while trying to figure out whats wrong with it. ryder gave me a 04 columbia with a c15 acert. first off.. a road truck isnt much fun to work with when some spots are tight for a single axle day cab. anyway.

1. its QUIET! maybe just as quiet as a ISX?
2. smooth. i love how smooth it is.
3. lots of power.. but.. not a fast motor persay.
4. aweful jake.
5. i miss the sound of the turbo.
6. sure as hell is no 3406

in my view if i was goign to buy a truck.. my first choice would be a truck with a ISX, then a S60 then a cat. sorry cat guys.

I don't know very much about the C-15 but I've heard that they are nothing compared to the 3406's.

ok as of today i have just about 500-600 miles.. just above half a tank with 150's on it. this thing is a PIG!

the more and more i think of what i said earlyer.. i'd get one for heavy hauling threw hills... if i couldnt get a isx...

one thing that i love is the mid range torque. especially when passing. my s60 you gotta really get in to it to pass.. this thing just give it a little more and it does it with ease.

oh yeah.. it still has that cat hum going down the road

We've got a bunch of pre-acert C15's & they're great. We've got 2 C13 acerts & they suck. I've never driven an ISX, but I would take a 12.7 Detroit or an N14 over the C13 any day.
