Sounds like you're barking up the wrong tree yet again, and helping to spread the misinformation.

Rev,
You may well know more about this than I do, so could you show me that exemption?
I idle when I have to, to be comfy. That included a 3 hour nap on an on-ramp in Marin County last Friday, (96+) and for part of that time I had a CHP hiding right in front of me. He never knocked on my door, so I never knocked on his. I would figure if they were going to mess with me anywhere, Marin would be the place.

Every state plus their exemptions to the law. One could say that in CA, idling the truck is to "prevent a safety or health emergency" too.

If I ever get a ticket you can come argue my case- Unless you want to send Golfhobo.......

I think you're right about Cali. But I still idle if it's too hot to sleep without A/C. And I see bazillions of other trucks doing the same.
I avoid Texas like some people do California.

I trust you have evidence of this? Not that I think that truck drivers are known for getting their facts wrong or anything. Honest.

From Reuters:
Quote:
...As of September 1, 2009, certain cities and counties in Texas will no longer allow drivers to idle their trucks while using a sleeper berth to comply with government-mandated rest periods. A number of Texas cities and counties have agreed to enforcement of a State regulation which limits idling to 5-minutes from April through October while providing some operational exemptions...

I mean hey, you've never been wrong.
Steve Booth told me so.
And we all know he's never been wrong.
Right?
