How fast are they idling?

I love the sound of a set of straights, when idling at about 1100. Oh that is such a sweet sound.
yes, to the floor, or so it sounds like, I would say if they were going it would be at least 40 or 50 mph.

And why the f#+K are you doing it when it's 65 degrees out?

When I was pulling tanker I would regularly nap at a particular vista point. There was a driver from another company would show up at least half the times I was there and do the fast idle. We're talking Nor Cal, 10 miles from the ocean. It never gets too hot. It never gets too cold. I think it's like a GF I had who could only sleep with the TV on.

bumping up the idle a bit keeps the fluids moving better, as well as the ac compressor putting out colder air.
