? for drivers who idle at full speed

Whats worse than a truck running at a full idle.....
Truck with a reefer hooked up to it....older one at that. I usualy pull straight in but only if i can back out easy. Am here at the pilot in Michigan, I-94 x167( wherever this is) and i just cant believe that the entire truck stop is quiet ....... beautiful..

I was sitting directly across from a Knight truck in Amarillo, TX that was idling at full speed, even across the aisle I had a hard time tuning it out so I could get some rest. About midway through the night I was woke up by someone beating on my door, I got up to chase the lizard away and sat in the drivers seat for a few minutes to have a smoke before going back to bed. I glanced across at the Knight truck and noticed the driver from the truck next to him get out of his passengers door, look around, and grab a pair of vise grips. He dropped to the ground right behind the steer tire of the fast idling truck and stood back up a few seconds later, without the vice grips. In less than a minute the truck sputtered and died. Ahhhh, sweet silence. Amazing what a crimped fuel line can do

Can we say you don't know what the F you are saying?
no BS, and it wasn't the first time I've seen that done. Fuel lines are very easy to get to and vice grips will easily collapse them to the point of starving the engine for fuel. Give it a try if you must.

Well for me...here's my explaination for higher than normal idle...when it's 50 below zero with a 70 below windchill the truck will freeze up at anything below 1400 rpm...that's the only time I idle...never gets hot enough to us AC...if it does I park in the shade or find a place at a higher elevation than where I'm at. In summer here shade can be hard to find since the sun doesn't set...but now it's just perfect...nights are about 6 hours long with low temps in the high teens...perfect for sleeping...little fresh in the morning sometimes...I got up to white stuff on the ground and temp around 14F...bit chilly for the t-shirt & shorts I went to bed in...but what the heck in another couple of months it'll be 50 below & 4 ft of snow...so cold is a "relative" thing I guess.
