This is one of the arguements that was used in a recent article in a Libertarian magazine I get and wondered how the pro-union people, the actual union worker guys, respond to it.

Because they will not allow you access to union controlled facilities, PERIOD.
Try setting up a trade show display in Chicago and you will find out, or try to enter a construction site controlled by union labor in Cleveland or NYC, you could get shot, that is the way things are, so voluntary does not work when bricks are being thrown though your windshield.
