My brother and I were trying to think of something/anything to get Dad for Christmas this year. He never spends money on himself, is retired and does a lot of sitting around. He likes hunting, but he won't go buy himself a decent shotgun.

So, we went and got him a Mossberg 20ga pump. It will be his first new gun that I can EVER remember him getting/having, and I'm 40 now.

I think he'll be happy ;-)

Oh - we also got him this:

Instant storytelling erupts every time you get near these massive replicas of America's favorite lure. And like this lure, the stories can get pretty large. Packed in the Original Floater style carton with the Legend of Lauri Rapala story on the back, this 29 1/2" lure is sure to be a hit!

I've seen those lures at Academy. I've never asked, but surely those are for display. Or maybe they do actually use them for salt water?

Speaking of...if yall see Santa with a boat tied to his sled, tell him to drop it off at my house.

On a serious note, I play drums. I wouldn't mind having a new set, but I know that's out of the question, but I need a new throne, or seat is what I call it. Mine is pretty well shot.

Like I told my dad the other day when he asked what I want for Christmas. I said, "I aint got a clue. I'm sure something will come to mind after Christmas." Then I told him that I wouldn't mind a new pair of boots. He was like, "well, son, what do ya want for Christmas?"

Me and my girlfriend was reading in the local paper where they had all these families listed and what they wanted for christmas, most adults asked for food baskets and most kids were asking for clothes. We decided we have way too much stuff anyhow so we took the money we would have spent on each other and bought for a few of the families in the paper.

That is awesome Mike. Our church does that. They get in touch with the local Missions, and everyone pitches in.
