Anyone ever been to this Pilot before? It's in Forest Park (atlanta) and I think it's exit 51 off of 285. We have a terminal right down the street so in the morning I pulled in there to get some coffee... Well, All the fuel Islands were blocked off and the exit was blocked also. So I pulled in front of the fuel island and parked only to have the security guard come over and tell me I had to leave. This was about 2am and I explained to him that all I wanted was some coffee and that I wasn't going to sleep on the fuel island. Anyways, he let me go. Inside the store there were 3 other security guards. These weren't just your normal rent a cops, these guys were HUGE!. When I left, I noticed why all the security. The apartments right across the street don't look very good and the bus stop hidden in the dark had a ton of guys sitting on milk crates just looking over the whole place... It was definitely one of the more creepy pilots I've ever been too...

:bigclap: :bigclap: :bigclap: I applaud you young Road-Warrior. You have way more brass than I do. I have trouble stopping in that pithole at 10am. Never gonna happen at 2am...just to danged scarey of a place. You have to be leary of the security people there to you know.:bow::bow: To TruckerChris.:bow::bow:

Yeah, you turn the corner at the light and you double check your locks ...You have the tough guys walking around the length of the road up to the pilot giving you their best mad dog look ,and then a super friendly staff ...But just like all rough areas your pretty well off unless you act silly ...I walk softly ,but will shoot you if needed...Wink

I agree with Orange. You got more guts than me! I Of course, I've never been to that Pilot, but I think it's a corporate policy for Pilot to build their truck stops in the roughest parts of the country. Every Pilot that I've seen was bad news!

I agree... What's that big one on the west end of the state... Missoula, I think? That one is huge and very nice. I stayed there a couple weeks ago... Brave? I'm 6'8". Come and get me. haha

No problem with the Pilots in MT because the gangs don't know that MT even exists yet. Same thing in WY. There have been times I've heard guys on the radio, asking "WHERE'S THE WOMEN?" Answer... HOME IN BED WITH THEIR HUSBANDS.
I don't like to slow down for ANY Pilots, but when I have had deliveries in and around Atlanta that cover two days, I have been known to stay at that one. It seems to be a good place to get a backing accident on your record. Last time I stopped in there, there were 4 incidents of trucks damaged when another one tried backing into a parking space. And, they were not just new drivers, one was an O/O whose truck is paid off, and bent the mirror bracket on another truck. I guess it's a good place to get about anything you want... Or anything you DON'T want as well. I generally try to get back down to Jackson and stay there. A couple of Pilots that are not bad are at Oak Grove, KY. One was a big Speedway, the other had been a Williams. The little dinky thing that Pilot started with, next to the Flying J, has been abandoned, and tore down.
