Another decent one is close to the AL/GA border on I-20. It used to be a Williams. I used to stay there quite a bit.

The one in Ft Worth isn't the nicest. I think the Police Dept has a terminal there.

I don't like to slow down for ANY Pilots, but when I have had deliveries in and around Atlanta that cover two days, I have been known to stay at that one. It seems to be a good place to get a backing accident on your record. Last time I stopped in there, there were 4 incidents of trucks damaged when another one tried backing into a parking space. And, they were not just new drivers, one was an O/O whose truck is paid off, and bent the mirror bracket on another truck.
I guess it's a good place to get about anything you want... Or anything you DON'T want as well. I generally try to get back down to Jackson and stay there.

A couple of Pilots that are not bad are at Oak Grove, KY. One was a big Speedway, the other had been a Williams. The little dinky thing that Pilot started with, next to the Flying J, has been abandoned, and tore down.

Theres a brand new Pilot west of Winnemucca, NV that opened up recently. It replace another old close down truck stop. They tore it down and built this one. It's HUGE! Real clean still and empty, at least when I was there.

Do they have a real restaurant? If not, I won't even be slowing down.

Did it have a Denny's in it? There is a Denny's at the new Pilot on I-40 east of Jackson TN, thought I saw a Denny's sign being hung at that Pilot back in early June when I went by there.

Well, the Denny's aughta fit right in with Pilot truck stops.

We have 2 here, and if you eat at either one of them after sunset, you might wanna wear a bullet proof vest.

When I was on the road I refused to spend the night in the Atlanta area unless I was at a terminal period. I have had to go into that Pilot a few times to get fuel and I agree. It sucks and the people just hanging around make the short hairs on your neck stand up even at noon.

As far as Pilots in general go, the "better" ones generally are the ones that used to be something else.
