I remember buying this legal at the health food store in late 80's early 90's ,And used it as a sleep aid on heavy leg days at 3-5 grams 30 minutes b4 bed ,And tons of others at the gym used it the same all without any near death effects ,but leave it to the party going brain dead ravers who will abuse any substance if it gets them high ...Most GAMMA HYDROXY BUTYRATE incidents are due to mixing the substance with other drugs like X and achohol...alchohol being bad b/c GHB is a sedative and so is alchool thus the synergestic effect could put you in a coma and kill you just like overdosing on strong booze . Ravers can kill themselves with anything ,but why is it when these village idiots do that the rest of the village suffers...


I write this B/C I had no idea that GHB was the infamous...G...or jesus ,and walked into a nutrition shop looking to buy a 100 gram bottle like I did in 1992 back in upstate N.Y. ,and got a very disturbing look like I was asking for crack , and then told why ...God damn i'm out of touch.

 

during my 22nd birthday, i was attending a dnb (drum n bass) massive (party). many people's drinks got spiked with that stuff, mine included, which happened to be a lovely bottle of 100 proof stoli vodka. i don't remember half of that night. the only thing my friends told me is that i was unconscious with my eyes OPEN. i do remember the hallucinations, freaking out, and then hitting the floor. all else that people said i was doing, is beyond me.

that shit is no joke, man. it's not a fun experience.

 

Mixing 2 strong sedatives like that is very deadly .GHB on it's own is documented to be very safe ,and from personal use I can say it is very safe ,And does not make you anything more than relaxed and get a gr8t night sleep after a heavy gym day ,which is why it gets mixed with other drugs ,but it seems party people gloss over the adverse/deadly section of what not to mix things with inorder to get high .Your friends mixing who knows how much GHB /hard liquor together could have killed you by shutting down your cns leaving you unable to breath and uptake oxygen ,so you risk brain damage/coma . Not 2 mention slipping someone substances unkowingly can be deadly b/c it's not like they ask you if you are taking any meds b4 slipping you the substance to avoid negative drug reactions ...

Alcohol works by exactly the same mode of sedation as GHB just with liver/kidney toxicity and a hangover where as GHB is not toxic to the body and has no hangover ... But if being used as a date rape device I guess those things don't matter ,so one would just use Americas #1 date rape drug Alcohol purchased legal ...But I'm not a party person ,and just wanted some GHB for a sleep aid after heavy wkouts just like back in 92 ,but thanks to ravers it's now illegal ...these people could get air banned if they found a way to get high/die from it .
