Hey everyone,
I have to do a case study for my masters program on Flying J truck stops/travel plazas. I was wanting to gather some information from truck drivers on the subject. How well you like Flying J, how do you feel about other stops, and what might they do to improve. Any information you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tyler Crawford

most flying j's need to improve the space within their lots. the flying j in ellensworth, wa simply needs to be closed down. it's a rundown piece of crap. the one in tacoma, wa makes me happy that there's a company terminal in sumner.

Anything you do to improve has to be a step up from there. Hope that Helps you out Tyler. PS..... Welcome ta CAD. ![]() TW

My company recently switched our fuel cards to TCH, which is owned by Flying J. I still go to the T/A's and avoid the J's like the plague. Their food is definitely over-priced. An average meal with a drink will easily run you over $10. I normally eat at mom & pop truck stops and rarely spend over $5 for a complete meal.

One of the worst truck stops in the United States is the Flying J at Carney's Point, NJ. You could do a study on that dive alone, and have enough material to carry through your Doctoral dissertation.
Care to elaborate regarding the theme of your case study? The Flying J as a whole is a broad subject.

Well you have your work cut out for you there! You are at the right place for firsthand info. There are many drivers on this board that are at Flying J's on a daily basis.
As for me, I am a local driver and don't have much interaction with truck stops anymore. I will however point out that you may find it easier to analyze the company as opposed to analize. ![]() Good luck!
