So if the doc tells you it's going around, is that supposed to make you feel better? What? Misery loves company?

I'm really annoyed with doctors right now- my husband had a knee problem that required minor surgery (just a local and a sedative) and I'm getting bills for several of the pre-op tests... some of which weren't even required and certainly weren't necessary. Now my "female" doctor is scheduling me for some tests just because I'm of a certain age and with child. Absolutely no reason for the tests except to confirm what all the other tests have already indicated. Hello- it's not like health insurance makes this stuff free! I'm not paying $1000 for a test that I don't need to have and they tell me it's just to check what they already know. If this were next year (when I'll clearly meet my deductible) we'd talk. But half the time I think these doctor's think it's all free (sorry- you mentioned $100 visit to the doctor each pop and that topic turns into a rant from me). There's a certain amount of responsible administration that's just missing from the health care industry- many employees never see the abuse because they don't get the bill but those of us who pay for our own DO see it. Gaarrraraaarrrr!

i don't know how old you are, but they do extra testing when you are pregnant and are of a certain age. it is routine for them and more so if you have a history of miscarriages. most of the time they are covering themselves, i think. but you can always refuse any test.

BTW, congrats!!

I completely understand that! My youngest is 19 months old. Because of my age, when I was pg with him, I had to see two doctors - the regular ob-gyn and a fetal maternal specialist. I finally told them...I'm taking what I get regardless so stop with the doctors, the tests, the scare tactics....and just let me have this baby! And, he's perfect! Regardless of what their "numbers" or "statistics" said...imagine that!! And I have insurance...and I'm still paying off doctor bills! After I had him, I got 13 bills! I don't think I even saw 4 people come in or out of my room! It is just ridiculous!! I have wonderful, uneventful pregnancies. My sister got scared into taking some of these tests and she's got a handicapped son now...who came very early because of an amnio!! I flat-ass refused.

Congratulations on the pregnancy! When are you due??

A hot summer night fell like a net

I need you to soothe my head

and turn my blue heart to red

Doctor Doctor, gimme the news I got a

Bad case of lovin' you

No pill's gonna kill my ill I got a

Bad case of lovin' you

A pretty face don't make no pretty heart

I learned that buddy, from the start

You think I'm cute, a little bit shy

Mama, I ain't that kind of guy

Doctor Doctor, gimme the news I got a

Bad case of lovin' you

No pill's gonna kill my ill I got a

Bad case of lovin' you

I know you like it, you like it on top YUP!

Tell me mamma, are you gonna stop? NO.

You had me down twenty-one to zip

Smile of Judas on your lip

Shake my fist knock on wood

I got it bad, and I got it good
