So I made a quick pitstop at a truck stop(something I rarely do),none the less I park my truck.I make a phone call and I glance over and see a white volvo. With a seal on the side the says "federal bureau of prisons" or something to that effect.Im thinking wow this must be some type of nice government job,If I see the drver while im there for the next 15 minutes ill ask him.So i get out walk around the front of my truck, and the license plate on the volvo also has government plates. So now im real interested. Some time passes by and two gentlemen wearing matching green pants come out and begin to walk to the truck, they had just dined in the fast food area inside the TS.I begin to talk to them and one of them I spoke to says hes serving a 10 year prison sentence for transporting a couple tons of marijuana in his rig. And that the government had a contract with jbhunt to haul there freight at 600k a year. I guess the prisons came up with the idea to let prisoneres drive for them.SO now they started out with 4 prisioneres who drive 2 trucks as teams from coast to coast. They both were wearing ankle bracelets and say they get paid $125 a month. If all goes well with this pilot program he said they will continue to grow it.

Jumbo! This whole prisoner/driver concept puts a whole new spin on the "cage" comment offered some time back by a poster.
I can't seem to remember who it was though........

It amazes me how gullible truck drivers are. Obviously, the two Government employees were having a laugh at this Marten drivers expense. I suppose next if he comes across an ICE bus with a couple of Mexican in uniform he will believe it when they tell him they are illegals that the government hired to drive the other illegals back to Mexico.

I think you are pulling our leg. I doubt that the government would take a chance on two prisoners, one of whom was convicted of transporting drugs in a big truck, to drive a truck while they are technically incarcerated. Drug transportation in a commercial vehicle is a big no no. I am skeptical. If they were driving for JB Hunt they would not have a government tag on the truck. It would be a civilian tag registered to JB Hunt. The government nor JB Hunt would take a chance on people with that type of background. The risk would be too great.
