post icons are those 3 little pic in the lower right hand corner of each post.
the quote icon copies what you wrote in my reply box the "+ is for multiple quotes and the last is for a quick reply, where all you want to do is say something and move on. there won't be smilies in the quick reply box, untill you hit "go advanced"

those 14 post icons are supposed to be used as a notification of post content.
the cynical side of me says it's a lazy way of readers to know the tone of the post, so they can make a quick decision as to whether or not they want to read it. the optimistic side says yeah, it's a great way to let people know i'm about to go on a rant.  :eek:
