In Canada there are platforms built in New Brunswick on the side of highways for truckers to clean the snow from the top of the trailers.
Sometimes the line up and to do the cleaning process may cause a lengthy delay.

It would not be much of a problem if people didn't tailgate. They want to blame the carrier or driver for the stupidity of the driver of a 4 wheeler.

It has a telescoping pole, you extent it and then run it over to put the bend that is needed for snow removal.

The car does not have to be tailgateing to get hit by ice and snow from a trailer.

Sounds good GMAN EXCEPT, the person I saw get killed in Oklahoma City was not even close to tailgating. They were 2 traffic lanes to the right of the truck and at least 100 yards behind. The sheet of ice took off like a sail in the wind and hit square in the drivers side windshield.

I understand that we don't want to clean our roof tops ourselves but how would we feel if our trailer shed ice and killed someone? Bet we would never travel with an icy roof after that!

What they fail to realize is that trucks aren't the only problem. They are going after trucks here when cars have the same deal. They drive down the road and this same crap flies off at 60-70 mph and does the same amount of damage. Are they going to be stopped for it? Supposedly VA has this type of law on the books now that is for all vehicles, police can ticket you. I have yet to see one ticketed.
