That makes absolutely no sense because they are talking about accusations of Obama being Muslim, not what his faith actually is. After he made that statement he was trying to explain what he meant with a nice big smile because he knows he just put his foot in his mouth. I wasn't going to vote for him anyways so it doesn't change my opinion of him. I already know what he is and I don't want him as President.

“Let’s not play games,” he said. “What I was suggesting — you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you’re absolutely right that that has not come.”

“My Christian faith,” Mr. Obama said quickly. “Well, what I’m saying is that he hasn’t suggested that I’m a Muslim. And I think that his campaign’s upper echelons have not, either. Exactly. He said it wrong, hence the "slip of the tongue". Sure - he meant that McCain hasn't claimed he was a Muslim, nor has his campaign. But the real story here is that Obama is trying to claim some "vast right wing conspiracy", like Hillary did in 1998.

I agree, I think it was more slip of the tongue than a statement that was taken out of context. We all know he claims to be Christian, but he has had some very strong connections to extreme Muslim activist's. I could honestly care less if he was a Muslim, not all are bad.
