My mother a diehard Obama supporter today admitted to me for the first time that she is going to vote for Mc Cain. Why I asked her simple his VP Choice she figures that if that woman could take on the Oil lobbists in Alaska while rasing a son with Downs and having a daughter that had a baby herself while managing the largest state in the nation she figured heck if Mc Cain did die in office we have a heck of a back up.

If you didn't see her acceptance speech last night, I believe it has been YouTubed. I understand that her teleprompter broke, too, so apparently she did over half her speech without it.

The debates are going to be fun.

I didnt catch her speech on TV, just the audio. She hit all the right buttons that Republicans like the hear. She was sometimes a little shrill sometimes. But seemed to deliver a prepared speech pretty well.

But what she didn't say:
1.) economy. What is the plan to make it better? no mention of any plan.
2.) health care. no mention of any plan.
3.) social security. no mention of any plan.
4.) illegal immigration. no mention of any plan
5.) balanced budget amendment. no mention
6.) outsourcing of jobs. How to stop. no mention
7.) Iraq. when are our troops coming home? no mention
8.) tax reform for ALL Americans. no mention

But I did enjoy them parading the poor guy, (the proud new father to be of her illegitimate grandchild) up on stage. A warm and fuzzy family moment! LOL>>. I saw a couple of pixs of him later, looked like the last place he wanted to be was there! LOL>>> bet he wished he would have spent a dollar on a condom now! Wait, they teach abstinance there, bet he wished someone would have told him about a condom!!

Another observation....She doesnt wear Pant Suits. Now thats class.
I was listening to a replay of a couple of shows on the satelitte radio coming home last night & Neil Cavuto had an interview with Mit Romny & he asked about him running again in 2012...he said "no way", he seemed to think Sarah Palin would be doing so then. Sounds like she's being groomed fro that already!

I really liked you bringing up both sides and the back and forth is very imformative, seriously because despite being I guess you would say conservative.
I don't like to feel like I am being told what I want to hear not the real issues.

But try try try to leave the kids out of it. Please gordo.
They aren't running.
They don't get a choice in what their parents chose to do.
I am sure if you asked them today and years from now they would do so many things differently.
As a teenage mom, as a woman and a mother I beg you not to use these kids to smear anyone.
They already have enough to deal with. I know this for a fact.

Thanks in advance
TW

Trukrswyfe

I mentioned the kids to prove a point, 1 you answered immediately, leave the kids out of it. But by also having the guy on stage with them is a set up on their part, and a smart one, if anyone does mention as I did, they will look like the bad guy. They can attack the one that makes the comment as did I, they can then go on to make the point they want to make while avoiding the original question. There was really no reason to have him specially flown in from Alaska except for that precise point. Make sense?

Maybe McCain tonight will provide some specifics on his plans, the way Obama did in his acceptance speech. The Republicans have been crying and whining for details, they got them from Obama. Now lets see their big plans.

Then we can decide if they can actually be implemented, or if it is just more promises of "seal blubber in every pot" type of thing. LOL>>>

Gordo...I agree here with TW, leave the kids out of it.
The press and the Dems are only focusing so much on a typical families issues, because they are desperate to dig up anything that may be dirty on her, and they (press and the Dems) feel they are far behind the power curve on Palins history. They are desperate. It made me sick when I heard how far over the top they attacked her daughter.

The main purpose of her speech last night was NOT to address the issues of this country directly. The main purpose was for her to introduce herself to the the American public. She did that in an outstanding way.
The issues are McCains to address, which are very evident and available to the public. He will address them as he needs. Im sure you will see many of them addressed tonight.

Sarah Palin is hardly typical. And the media does have a right to look into her past and see what she is all about. But we will see what McCain has to offer as far as specifics, if it is indeed anything new, or just more of the same. 4 more years of Bush / Cheney.

You sound a little bitter, Gordo. Already seeing the Obama campaign slipping down the toilet, are you? You should head over the political forum on Layover. Those bent geniuses on that board are 1 sneeze away from committing suicide, literally. It's hard to believe that some people can be that far gone and still have the functional capacity to actually post on a messageboard. You'd at least be the more conservative liberal...might give them something to hold on to and might actually teach them something...

...but I rather doubt it. Nothing against you...you seem to be somewhat level headed, even for a liberal.

4 years of McCain/Palin and then 8 years of Palin/Romney?

The future is looking bright.
