sbatson if you have delorme and driver daily log the two can be linked and driver daily log will use delorme's gps for location for all your log entries. no need to look or even know what little town your in just click and it puts it in your log.
I didn't realize that DDL was capable of doing this. When I get the new Delorme, I am definately going to set this up. My old version of Delorme doesn't work well with Vista, and on top of that the unit is dead. This would be the 4th GPS antenna I have gone through now. It's not all that surprising, since I have it located outside on my mirror bracket. I never could pull a decent GPS signal by simply putting it on my dash, so I always put it outside.

I got that nifty email from Delorme offering me the Plus version for $79.95, and since it has the word "plus" attached to it, I think I will have to get that one. Although, I can get the bluetooth version for $89.95, and I have had to replace my Delorme because I smashed the USB in the door.....

Decisions, decisions....

we have the antenna on the inside of the skylite and it works great just need to use a 6' usb extension cord.

to use delorme's antenna with ddl you will need to download and run delorme serial port emulator

then download the gps add on http://www.driversdailylog.com/ddlgpsinformation.htm you will find a link here for delorme's emulator but i don't know if this one will work with vista or not.... works just fine on XP

Heh - you'd love my setup in my truck then

7" touchscreen monitor in the front, 17" widescreen laptop in the sleeper

I run CoPilot, Drivers Daily Log, a Sprint aircard and Windows XP Media Center Edition. I have literally hundreds of movies/tv episodes on the laptop at any given time to watch while sitting around.

Mal, you wouldn't happen to have a link to your touchscreen monitor, would you? I've been looking at them recently, and am kind of shocked at the range of prices. How much did you pay for yours? How is it mounted? Any problems with it?
